At Franchise End!

I know it's still about a month away, but Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is coming out on DVD. I'd like to remind you all what a ninja would have to say about this movie. Enjoy!

I don't really agree with him on this movie. I actually did find the movies pretty entertaining and I'll most likely buy it so I can complete the set. That being said, this is one funny ninja.

Okay, okay!

I get it, I haven't been on here for a while. I promise I am formulating some sort of blog post. I'm not saying exactly what it will be, or if it will be frackin' awesome. Although, if it's coming from me it just might be ninjatastic.

For now here are a few photos of the past little while.

First and foremost.... The Spirit of Thanksgiving compels you!

These Spirits apparently got thirsty.

Then I went and got a few drinks with Jesus (a.k.a. Travis).

That has to be one of the best beards ever. I need to quit this short attention span theater thing and grow a beard that awesome.

Finally, our dear Rockies got the snot beat out of them for four straight games in the World Series, but the views were spectacular nonetheless.

I thought the fireworks were pretty sweet from my roof. I tried to get a good shot of the flyover, but when the F-15s go right over your head it's hard to get them in the frame very well. I'd upload the picture to prove it, but apparently the photo stuff on blogger just passed out from stress of loading a camera-phone picture.

Hasta la pasta!

There's got to be another level.

Can I break the spell of the typical?

Good message, we all should re-evaluate from time to time and make sure we aren't just going through the motions of life.

Oh, and the video is pretty cool too!

Thank you.

Ok, learned time.

One of my favorite pastimes (apart from the demoralization thing we talked about a while ago) comes from finding the true meaning, from my point of view, and original context of some of our most common phrases, ideas, or beliefs. This one just kinda came back to me. As more come up I'll try and share them.

Next time anyone out there on the intahrweb thinks of saying "ignorance is bliss," please first go here and learn the true context of the phrase. Things really take on a whole new meaning when one takes the time to attempt to understand and fully comprehend the entire story before making a statement / judgment / rationalization. There are probably times when it is said that the implied meaning from the Ode is used, but I find that to be the case on fewer and fewer occasions as time wears on.

One of the beauties of literature lies in its ambiguity (that is, unless you are reading a legal document, and then the lawyer made some BIG mistakes). While yes, the author, in this case Thomas Gray, wrote this Ode with a certain meaning in mind it is up to each of us to internalize the words before us and really give them strength. Of course therein lies the fatal flaw. As there are 6.blahblah billion people in this world, there will also be 6.blahblah different interpretations of the Ode. But, if you can have with me a meaningful discourse and present your point of view as it differs from my own I will be happy to hear it. Just don't accept at face value what you hear because many times it is total crap that I or anyone else just made up. It is up to us, as a society to involve our brains in our daily life as opposed to letting the boob-tube or webernet do it for us, and yes, I too see the irony in posting that.

So, as Karen would say, I'm off my soapbox now.

Post Script
Should I ever do the opposite of what I have said above, (without first winking, smiling, giving a nudge, saying "know what I mean" et al.) make sure and give me a sharp smack on the head. While I know some things, I definitely do not know all and I always want to learn more.

Insane Stunt Bonus!

Yes, even with shunts like this I would still love to try my hand at auto racing. I guess in lieu of that I'll just stick to racing bikes, which can end a lot like this...

Fun

Too much going on to post much these days, but holy carp has it been fun. Photos to come eventually, but so far we have the Spirit of Thanksgiving, far, far, far too much sugar, and a fun futbol game recently. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to slow down enough to get on here and be more detailed. Oh, and make sure to check out the Yeti (see the right) and his windy day up in the northwest. The media is funny when they aren't really paying attention trying to get a story.

Tickets Please

After this:

Does anyone want to take me to a baseball game? I know lots of worthless baseball crap from my early years, I still have a soft spot in my heart for the good ol' Oakland A's. I can even hand-score the game for you (I think I still know how). So exciting.

The only downside to this whole thing is living one block from the field. Things didn't start to quiet down around here until about 1:30 this morning. Having to get up at 6:30 for work was a little rough to say the least. Of course it is worth it, but I am going to have some serious sleep to make up come November.

Party Time!

Excellent!

Party on Wayne! Party on Garth!

Last night I had an amazing time. I'd like to thank everyone on behalf of Dad for making it to D-town for the celebration. I'll get all the photos and put a few select shots up here soon (I hope). There was just so much going on that I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to put into words just how much fun it was. Of course, whenever Ken B. is in town from NYC there are bound to be some stories.

Today is all about relaxing. With the nasty weather out the entire family went out for breakfast at The Original Pancake House and now we're all just lounging around. I'm not quite sure what's on the docket after they head off to the airport, but I'd like to keep this low-key thing going. Maybe go catch a movie, eat a nice dinner or get a couple of drinks. Really doing any one or a combination would make for a good end to a great weekend.

hOoray!

With an extra big O!

Things seem to be going really well right now. Everything is coming up Milhouse!

It's going to be a super-fun weekend. I can't wait to help Dad celebrate his birthday, especially with all the family and friends that will be in town. In fact, Dad and I went out to lunch with little Miss Mary today.

We really didn't go anywhere special (just the Corner Bakery), but it's always nice to be together. I love this fambly!

I'll try to take many (blackmail) photos of the party Saturday night, but if I have too good of a time and forget, don't hold it against me.

After that it was back to the grindstone until I didn't really want to be at the office any more. So...I went home and worked some more! After that it was on to watching the game with Rebekah.

The Rockies totally ROCKED today. Nothing like winning the opening game of the NLCS away from home to demoralize the other team. Demoralization is, after all, my favorite pastime. I'm not sure on the statistics but it should be something like 84.756% of teams that win the opening game of a series go on to win in the end. Everyone be sure to watch the next few games. I think there will be big things ahead for many of the young guys on the team this year. If not, at least good memories will be had by all. And really, in the end all we have are those memories, so make them while you can.

And now for something completely different...

I think I'm ready to finally make the big jump and get myself out of Downtown, but man, with views like this....

It is just really hard not to enjoy Denver. This was dusk a couple of days ago from the top of my building after a (hard) ride with Seth. Man, I don't know how I won't be flying next year if I end up riding with him a lot this winter. The guy just never goes easy. I guess I'm just glad I'm not a Time Trialist, because if that's how you have to train to do well, it just seems like waaaaaay to much work.

More riding, work and fun to come in the next few days. Hasta la vista!

God Spoke

Saying let there be Media, and there was, and it was good.

I don't know if things really went down that way, but at the request of a Ridiculously Skinny Person for more photos, I have decided to go one step further. I thought about throwing a very NC-17 music video up here, but I don't really feel like getting blacklisted, so here's my favorite video of the last year. Enjoy!

It's Alive!

And by "it" I mean me, and by alive I mean, well, alive I guess really does work. What do you know about that?

This last week has been pretty busy, so sorry about not posting much. The rundown goes a little something like work, ride, golf, eat, drink, ride, drink, ride, drink, ride, drink, eat, and then ride. I think that's about it. I'm starting to feel more like my old self again so that's pretty nice. The only downside is I see about 10 things a day I want to just rant about here but I'm not quite sure that's the best thing to do. Maybe sometime in the near future (if my anger doesn't get any better) I'll start up a new bit just to let loose.

Lastly Go Rockies!

You guys are totally rockin' it right now. First Arizona, next the AL. Let's go! And if anyone out there has spare tickets to any of the coming games I promise I'll be your best friend if you'll take me.

Update

And just as I complain about the Rockies taking forever to end the game, what do they do but explode in the 13th to tie and then win on a great sacrifice fly. On to the playoffs we go! More excitement around home (and a lot less parking) to come!

Oh, Come On!

So I'm sitting here, ready for bed but I need to see the end of this stinking baseball game. Nothing really special happened today. Got up, went to work, rode after work and I've been watching this game ever since. I like the playoff atmosphere and all, but man our "national pastime" is freaking boring!

Well, in the words of Officer Barbrady, "Nothing to see here people, move along!"
